Who We Are

Zorah Mehrzad
she/her/hers
Whether it’s the newest podcast episode of TrueAnon or shuffling through hyperpop playlists on SoundCloud, you’ll probably be better off making sure Zorah doesn’t have her headphones on before you try talking to her. When she’s not stuffing her head with sounds, Zorah is helping to edit our experimental and poetry sections, in addition to serving as Editing Director for the Crescent Magazine! Her current earworms are Tate McRae’s newest album, So Close to What, and Pool Kids by Pool Kids, both of which she proudly owns on CD.

Kara Laymon
she/her/hers
Kara’s favorite things to read are super-mega-long fantasy novels, but she also loves poetry! She helps out with our social media (shameless plug for @earwormsmag) and of course, can’t wait to read new submissions! Her current earworm is Dave Matthews Band, but it changes every two days so by the time you’re reading this she’s probably moved on to something else <3

Olivia Oswald
she/her/hers
Olivia likes and shamelessly inhales the weird, as well as the fantastical and occasionally the realistic. In addition to serving as an editorial assistant at Kelsay Books, she primarily works with fiction, creative nonfiction, and experimental pieces. Her current earworm is emails i can’t send by Sabrina Carpenter, but it’s always fluctuating! Her own work can be found published in Mania Magazine and NiftyLit.

Grace Young
she/her/hers
Grace spends her free time rotting in bed with a good book and binge watching kdramas. She loves history museums and has an appreciation for literature classics, but she prefers to spend her personal reading time with a fantasy novel that will leave her emotionally damaged. Although slightly pessimistic she tries to look for the good in the world (ironic I know). Grace edits our flash section and assists with non-fiction and fiction. Her current earworms are 6LACK’s album Since I Have a Lover and BLOO’s Bloo in Wonderland
